Riley's First Pony Ride: Oct 15, 2011

Saturday, we went to Nana & Papa Boever's to celebrate

Mommy's Birthday and to enjoy some time outside.

We decided to officially introduce Riley to PJ the pony.

Riley helped brush PJ and enjoyed petting her.

After watching Papa and Nana get PJ saddled, Riley decided

that he was ready to be a cowboy and get on up!

Ye-haw!!!

Ride-em cowboy!!!

Riley really was a natural!

(and I'm not just saying that because I'm his mom!)



It really took some persuasion to get him off to go eat some lunch ;-)

Then after some food and a nap, we all celebrated Mommy's Birthday over dinner and

yummy brownie desserts. I even got some pretty awesome gifts!!! ;-)

I sure had a wonderful time (and I know Riley did too).

I look forward to watching and encouraging Riley's horsemanship skills grow.

Mommy's Birthday: Oct 14 2011

I had my Birthday off work (which was wonderful!) and decided

that to finish celebrating, I wanted to eat dinner at Cascone's!

(which I knew was taking a chance since we had Riley....

but figured it was worth the risk)

Despite getting antsy, Riley did very well and we had a nice meal.

It was just nice to get out and have dinner at a nice restaurant ;-)

Man-oh-man! 31 years-old!!! How did that happen?

Tah-Dah!!!!!

So we are pretty much current now!
So, my goal is to keep things current so that I can recall more details and keep everyone up to date!

KC Renaissance Festival Sept 2011

 We took Riley to the Ren-Fest for the first time this year

The weather was PERFECT!

We ran into a friendly pirate....

Riley was quite taken with him!

 

It was too stinkin' cute!

We found the petting zoo

And Riley made some friends!

Unfortunately, my camera ran out of batteries, but we had a great time!

I think Riley's favorite thing was watching the joust ;-)



Riley's 3rd Birthday: July 8, 2011!

Riley got a brand-new BIKE!!!!

He couldn't wait to try it out!

It took some practice, but he caught on pretty quickly!

After playing outside on his new bike for awhile, it was time to decorate some cupcakes!

Riley worked really hard on them!

But had fun being a taste-tester too!

Yep... hard work, but we had fun ;-)

We celebrated with Nana & Papa Boever and Ryan and Jill this night....

and Nana & Papa Shelton the next night!

I think overall, it was a GREAT Birthday!

And fun was had by all!

Nana & Papa Hessefort & Uncle Kevin, Aunt Christie, Corinne, & Colin went camping up at Watkin's Mill and we had a great time visiting with them while they were in town!

We sure wish we could see each other more often, but we'll take what we can get!

It was a warm day and a warm night, but we still had a great time dancing our hearts out.

We were so happy that we could share such a special day with Aunt Judy and Uncle Michael (and of course the rest of our family!) There just aren't enough times that we can all get together!!!
